The “guardians” of the traditions of tango Argentino ignore those who dance to the music of tango nuevo, of Astor Piazzolla or Osvaldo Pugliese – the compositions, which, according to them, were made for listening, not for dancing. But the programme of Irmantas and Kristiana “El Tango Nuevo” is like a challenge breaking the traditional point of view towards tango. 44

The modern tango performance based on the contemporary tango composers’ music: tango variations from album of joint Argentinean and French artists’ group “Gotan Project” and others. 44

                The spontaneous idea, born in June, year 2003, - to dance tango under the open skies – turned into the cheerful variations of summer nights. 44

                 

EL HIJO DEL TANGO

 

         

 

                It is possible to say that this joint work of Uruguayans and Lithuanians forms the new conception of tango – an oppressing and sometimes even intolerable variation of the dance. 44
