Irmantas Bacelis &

Giedre Mataciunaite

Irmantas & Giedre are leaders and instructors of Vilnius Tango Club. They got the experience of tango from tango masters from Argentina, Uruguay, France, Sweden and other countries. Presently they pay special attention to improvisations in “Tango Nuevo” style.

Irmantas is professional actor, who debuted on the stage as tango dancer in 2002 in concert “Maestros del Tango” (together with accordionists’ quintet “Cantus” and dancers of Vilnius Tango Academy). Giedre as tango dancer debuted in 2005 in tango performance “Lolita”, directed by Irmantas according to the novel of V.Nabokov.

Irmantas has also participated in joint tango projects and concerts: “Tango del Diablo” (with accordionists’ quintet “Cantus”), “Tango del Norte” (with chamber orchestra “4tango” and Malmoe Tango Academy, Sweden), “Libertango” (with chamber orchestra “4tango” and dabcers from Argentina Pablo & Vanesa Vélez) and in tango performance “El Hijo del Tango” (with tango troupe “Percanta”, director J.E.Giménez).
